Some of the activities were bean bag toss, face painting, football throw, sling shot targets, nail painting for the little girls, balloon animals, and more.
I came in and asked what I could help with and I was assigned to making different figurines out of balloons. I've never made a balloon animal, or dog, or anything in my life. My confidence of taking this on was low in the beginning but by the end I was a master in making a sword, any type of hat, and a flower expert. I wish I would have taken some photos of the ones I did so you can see a visual of what I was talking about.
I did manage to snap a few photos with my phone though.

There was never a dull moment for our station, we had people lining up to get a baloon.

We had 4 big bags of balloons and the 4 of us worked until they were all gone. There was still a line when we ran out of balloons and some kids did cry. But there were plenty of other activities to be had.
I worked @ this station for awhile. Or at least until the candy was gone. Kids don't care about anything unless there is a prize involved. There were still a few troopers who didn't care about the candy and just wanted to kick the ball.

Some kids I could tell don't get to do these kinds of things a lot and it felt awesome to interact with them and make them smile...even if my rocket ship balloons did look like a spider. It's the imagination that counts right?
:)
